Originally a painter, I make mosaics to look like paintings. I want to make people happy with color blends and movement, reminding them of the beautiful world around us. When the day is over and time fades, the image on your psyche is what remains.

A digital screen does not compare to the unparalleled vibrancy of the glass mosaics at S Cohen Studio, due to shiny glass sheets and array of glass colors (all manufactured in the USA).

In 2018, I had the unique opportunity to work with artist Kelly O’Dell, turning her ideas into mosaic. Using glass mirror as metaphorical poetry for the elephant body, the piece demands introspection. We mapped out the elephant, made a plan, and began cutting glass and assembling.

Dwindling elephant populations reflect the same future for mankind, due to climate change and loss of habitat. We must preserve these beautiful creatures and our earth.
